Firstly, a model of wind speed distribution is presented by considering the first order origin moment and the second to fourth order central moment of wind speed data as the constraints of the maximum entropy. Secondly, a model of power system reliability assessment is gained by calculating the convolution of probability distributions of wind generation and traditional generation. Finally, the LOLP index is used to evaluate the reliability of the RBTS test system by this method. Application of new wind speed model in power system reliability assessment
