The effects of the field of view and reflections on the optical wireless channel
In recent late the IEEE has scheduled the standardization group 802.15.7r1 “ Short Range Optical Wireless Communication”, which is currently in the treatment of expanding a standard for visible light communication (VLC) and aims to deliver peak data rates of 10 Gbits/s. As with any other communication system, processing the performances studies depend on a realistic channel model and its impulse response. Thus, it is a compulsory condition that the features of the channel are well understood to design and operate efficient optical communication shape. Lights are installed everywhere around us; in public places, houses, streets. Since lights represent a crucial part of our daily lives, I find it a mandatory condition to study the subject matter. In this paper, our main objective is to study the influence of both FOV(field-of-view) and the reflections on channel impulse response (CIR) with different path LOS (Line-Of-Sight) and NLOS(Non-Line-Of-Sight) using a room size of 4.0mx 4.0mx 2.5m with the transmitted optical power of a LED up to 1W.
