Sample population of this study were teachers of higher education in Brunei. The aim of the study is to unearth problem due to an increase in stress level among teachers caused by many factors such as work environment, family-work interaction and professional and competence development. This study will embark on the investigation of professional and competence development and its effect in stress level among teachers in Brunei. A quantitative study was adopted and primary data was collected from a sample of 198 respondents.
