It involves both the study of and use of plants for therapeutic purposes. Long before the prehistoric era, people employed plants for medical purposes. India has a long history of being a thriving storehouse for medicinal herbs among ancient civilizations. India’s forests are the main source of a variety of medicinal herbs. The proposed work identifies the medicinal flora species which are in Western Ghats region of India by the leaf picture of that plant. The leaf pictures of the medicinal plants are trained by a convolutional neural network algorithm. The user can take photo of the leaf of the plant or he can also upload the saved picture of the leaf of the plant. The uploaded picture is compared with the trained model then the local and biological name of the plant is displayed as output on the screen. Two main medicinal uses of the plant are also displayed.
