Low acceptance of solar PV solutions to meet rural electricity demand: A case study
More than 70% of the Indian population is living in villages, the heart of our nation. Any rural area can achieve socio-economic development only if they have access to reliable and affordable energy sources. The paper attempts to analyze the reasons behind the poor acceptance of solar energy solution in Indian villages despite various government programmes and research work in the field of developing economical solar solutions to meet common man's demand. A feasible model suitable for villagers' is proposed after conducting a thorough study. Various socio-economic problems that are faced by the villagers are also discussed in detail.
