Proper sizes and location of distributed energy resources (DERs) which are selected by calculation of reactive loading index and cost reduction using map reduce particle swarm optimization (MRPSO) algorithm. By placing DERs reactive and active power loss are reduced. Economic load dispatch is optimal power allocation satisfying load demand where cost is minimized. Here microgrid is combination of three diesel generators (Dg) and two micro turbines (Mt). Proposed odified particle swarm based algorithm (MRPSO) based on improved version of PSO. The proposed idea has been performed on radial distribution network 12.66 kV consisting 33 nodes.
