Development of Method for Eliminating Exchangeable Power Fluctuations in Shipboard Electrical Systems
The authors conduct the examination of power exchange fluctuations existence problem between the parallel running generators of the marine electrical complex. This article provides a new solution of a relevant problem of increasing the technical and economic efficiency of parallel synchronous generators operation of the marine electrical complex, which shows the rationality and efficiency improvement of their management systems in order to reduce the amplitude of power exchange fluctuations. The experimental results obtained in the form of waveforms for all modes of operation of the existing sea-ferry vessel “Eysk”, confirming the presence of the exchange and in-phase oscillation with an amplitude up to 100%, represents the presence of problems and lacks of parallel operation mode used in the ship's synchronous generator units. A method which could be applied to reduce power exchange oscillation amplitude lies in changing the settings of automatic diesel speed controllers. The expediency of adaptive self-adjusting automatic control system for the implementation of this method is explained as this article follows with the research results confirmed by mathematical modeling.
