Frequency Stability of the Frequency Standard Separated from the Digitized TV Signal
The influence of the video signal's digitization on its frequency stability is measured and presented in this paper. The video signal is firstly digitized in the TV studio and then relayed through the microwave link to the TV transmitter where it is converted to the analog form, and finally broadcast to a wide area. The TV line frequency, which is very convenient to be used as a frequency standard, is precisely separated from the received TV signal and then multiplied to 1 MHz/TTL in a PLL. The regenerated 1 MHz/TTL frequency standard is suitable for further comparisons and applications. Its frequency stability is measured by the HP5390A frequency stability analyzer, controlled by the PC
