The product modeling framework consists of a product information modeling architecture, a workflow modeling architecture and the extended enterprise resource modeling architecture. A multidisciplinary collaborative design method based on the product modeling framework over Internet is discussed, and a J2EE standards based and multi-agents based information system infrastructure is presented in order to achieve the collaborative product development.
