As known WECS is a renewable system that aims to generate electrical energy from wind. In order to ensure the penetration of the generated energy into the power grid, it must satisfy IEEE 519 standards which consider that total harmonic distortion (THD) in power systems is limited in 5%. Since Multilevel inverters have been suggested to deal with THD drawbacks of conventional two-level inverter devices in many applications. In this work, we present the study modulation and simulation in MATLAB/ SIMULINK of the wind energy conversion system based on a Cascade H-Bridge Multilevel.
