La didáctica y el papel de las lenguas en la formación de traductores e intérpretes

Abstract This article focusses on the distinguishing traits of language teaching/learning in translation training programmes in Spain. More pointedly, it aims to bring into sharp relief the need to chart this field as an area of language instruction in its own right as well as to sketch a thought‐through pedagogical and research agenda for the future. Individual contributions to the ongoing debate are assessed and a number of lines for future progress in this area are outlined in the final section.
