Concept of a Tri-band Frequency Reconfigurable Microstrip Patch Antenna
A compact reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna capable of working at three different frequency bands is presented in this paper. Connecting and disconnecting secondary structures from the main patch, allows a change in the dimensions of the antenna leading to three resonating frequencies (9, 12.5 and 16GHz). The experimental measurements carried out on the prototype are in line with the results obtained by electromagnetic simulation. With this technique, it is possible to design a single antenna operating at various frequencies.
