An everted rat gut sac technique was used to investigate the effect of aqueous extracts of these plants on kinetic parameters of D (+) glucose. Everted guts were mounted in a gut sac bath and aqueous extracts were added to the mucosal medium at varying substrate concentrations. Michaelis-Menten constant (Km) and maximal velocity (Vmax) were calculated in the presence and absence of drug.
