Preliminary Estimation of Groundwater Level With Geoelectric Method in North Part of Surakarta City
The growing population of Surakarta will impact the use of groundwater as a source for daily needs, meanwhile its quantity is decreasing because of the growing number of industries and hotels. The purpose of this study was to determine the depth of groundwater, determine potential water sources based on the thickness of aquifers, and map the depth of groundwater distribution using GIS software. This research was carried out in 11 points in the northern part of Surakarta using Geoelectric method. The results of the study showed that the depth of groundwater in the northern part of Surakarta is within 1.16 – 27.33 meters for shallow aquifer and 40.83 – 101.35 meters for deep aquifer, which were found in sandy layers.
