Uncontrolled hypertension can cause complications in patients. For this reason, efforts are needed to prevent hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine how the family's duties in preventing hypertension. This study uses a descriptive research design. The population in the study amounted to 206 families. Sampling using purposive sampling with a sample of 67 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results of univariate data analysis showed that the majority of the implementation of family tasks in preventing hypertension was in the good category (64.2%). Family tasks in recognizing hypertension problems in the good category (61.2%), making decisions in taking care actions in the good category (50.7%), caring for family members with hypertension in the good category (53.7%), modifying the health environment about in the good category (62.7%), and utilizing health service facilities in the good category (61.2%).
