Mechanical Wind pumping system based on Hydropumped storage
In this paper, a new pumping system where a controlled storage has been integrated to a classical mechanical wind pumping system is proposed. The new system consists mainly of a wind turbine, a controlled storage and a piston pump. The objective of this developed system is to improve the standard system global power efficiency. First, a literature survey over what has been done up to now on wind pumping and pumped storage is presented. The details of the proposed system design are given. Then, the advantages of this new system compared to a classical one are shown. Finally, the developed wind pumping system and the standard mechanical wind pumping system were simulated in order to prove that the proposed system has the best results in terms of power efficiency and stored water.
