As an important equipment in the power gird, the running reliability of transformer are directly affect the accuracy of power grid monitoring data. As for the abnormal heating of transformer, analyzed the internal structure of current transformer and voltage transformer, discussed the common faults and causes, which combined with the application of infrared thermometric technology. The abnormal heating fault of transformer are researched and summarized such as the poor internal contact, increased dielectric loss and abnormal secondary connection terminals, etc. The abnormal heating reason are analyzed according to the related testing data, and give out the processing scheme.
