SOME ASPECTS OF THE POSITION OF SAUDI ARABIA AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SPECIAL OPERATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN UKRAINE
The artcle atempts to look at the reacton observed in the media of the data of the two Arab states of the Persian Gulf regarding Russia's special operaton in Ukraine, as of early April 2022. Of partcular interest were also the opinions or actons of the leaders and officials of these states in relaton to the problem. However, they are very restrained and are represented in the media in an extremely limited volume. However, some artcles contain direct statements by officials of Saudi Ara‑ bia and the United Arab Emirates in this connecton. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are the two largest economies in the Arab world. In additon, these two Arab states, in essence, act (in accordance with their existng capacites to increase oil producton), the so‑called «closing», that is, determining, oil suppliers to the world market and have an almost decisive impact on the state of the oil market and the volume of supplies. Today, notoriously, these issues are regulated within the framework of the OPEC+ Agreement, where these countries, along with Russia, also play a leading role.
