INNOVATIVE OUTLOOK TO CREATIVE CULTURE AND HERITAGE TOURISM CURRICULUM DESIGN IN UNIVERSITIES OF UZBEKISTAN
Currently most Universities in Uzbekistan position their Tourism Management degree on the rather classical curriculum requirements, mainly based on the modules such as Marketing in Tourism, Restaurant and Hotel Business Management, Service Tourism. Within the current year at Westminster International University in Tashkent we have set a goal of trying to introduce market driven, innovative curriculum for the pathway in Cultural Studies and Tourism. Having conducted research involving professionals in the field, the employers, prospective students and current students we have decided to incorporate rather innovative curriculum into the design of our pathway aiming at articulating both tangible and non-tangible heritage aspects and tourism behaviour. The research findings may be of use for Universities and improve the quality of Tourism and Hospitality sector as well as equip the future professionals of the sector with most up to date skill set.
