Semiclassical Analysis of the Detuned Ring Laser with a Saturable Absorber
We present new results which provide a more complete theoretical understanding of the instabilities, bifurcations, and transition to chaos in the output of the ring laser with a saturable absorber. In particular, we describe this system with no restrictions on the cavity tuning or resonant frequencies of the amplifying and absorbing atoms (the "fully detuned" case).
