The HEC improves and increases savings in bills for consumers. It also reduces the peak demand and peak to average ratio (PAR) for the utility grid. In this paper an algorithm is proposed for an intelligent HEC to control and manage power consumption for home appliances with simulating demand response (DR) operations. This algorithm controls the common home appliances to attain the minimum energy consumption rates and consequently it reduces the peak loads. It switches the appliances according to their selected priority, and to keep the total consumed power below certain limits. The program is implemented by MATLAB-R2012b for technical validation and solutions.
