The aim is to achieve a high resolution video from a low resolution one. The new algorithm uses the concept of interpolation and filtering in order to get a higher resolution video. The filter is designed by reducing the size of the video and then enlarging it by using interpolation. A filter is optimized to minimize the mean square error between the original frame and the interpolated frame. Each frame will end up with a different filter. The video is then enlarged and the designed filters are used to sharpen the interpolated frames.
