Schistosome egg recognition using the top-down search strategy
A practical implementation of the top-down search strategy has been introduced with its application in schistosome egg recognition from microscope images. The top-down search is implemented by a hierarchy, from the coarse search for a sign of the existence of the object to the fine examination of the texture of the object. The upper levels of the hierarchy (the high-level vision part) are discussed to demonstrate the strategy of top-down recognition. The approach has been used in clinical applications in two hospitals in China.<>
