This study used descriptive qualitative method to explore and describe the phenomenon. Subjects of this study were 40 students of English department, which consisted of 10 male and 30 female. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, while the data analysis techniques in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and  conclusions. The study revealed that the use of Duolingo application was quite effective to enhance the students’ motivation in writing. This study showed that Duolingo is an app where every beginner can start learning a second language as it motivates him / her to keep on making progress. 摘要

Duolingo是一款帮助学习第二语言的现代应用程序。本研究旨在通过多邻国这一教学语言工具来调查学生的写作动机。本研究采用描述性定性方法对这一现象进行探讨和描述。本研究以英语系40名学生为研究对象,其中男10名,女30名。本研究的数据收集技术是访谈,而本研究的数据分析技术是数据还原、数据呈现和结论。研究表明,多邻国应用程序的使用对提高学生的写作动机是非常有效的。这项研究表明,Duolingo是一个应用程序,每个初学者都可以开始学习第二语言,因为它激励他/她不断进步。然而,多邻国也需要改进,以涵盖更多的词汇,语法规则和语言,特别是英语,因为它是世界通用语。
