The application of flexible AC transmission system (FACTs) modeling and incorporation procedures to solve load flow problem is one of the most challenging tasks in the present scenario. Identifying an appropriate location to maximize the benefit of the controllers to optimize system performance by considering an objective function draws more attention for developing new and novel algorithms and as well as methodologies. In order to maximize the security of the system, a technique based on sensitivity is considered in this paper work and also a methodology to obtain the best control parameters of unified power flow controller (UPFC). A novel transformer based modeling of UPFC is presented along with the necessary mathematical modeling and its incorporation procedure.
