Automatic and independent Domain Name Service Configuration Management
In this paper we propose an Automated and Distributed Network Service Configuration Management subsystem that, using independent network service configurations, abstracts the heterogeneous service implementation details and enables the development of high-level independent management applications. This overcomes the need for intermediary static configuration translation schemes, while providing an efficient way to deal with heterogeneous service management. To prove the usefulness of our architecture, an automated and independent Domain Name Service (DNS) configuration management prototype tool was built. Implementing an independent server-centric management approach, the prototype provides a group of advanced features to simplify DNS management. Automatic configuration replication procedures were performed to demonstrate the framework's management independence to the service implementation details.
