Design of Missile Roll Autopilot based on Quantitative Feedback Theory
This paper proposes the use of Quantitative Feed-back Theory (QFT) as a controller design method for Roll attitude control of a missile. The main objective of this work is to demonstrate how QFT can be used to design a single controller at all Mach Numbers via an exceedingly simple example adapted from ‘Guided Weapon Control Systems by P. Garnell and D.J. East’. As shown, the designed compensator has better Stability Margins and significant improvement in disturbance rejection. Relevant results arising out of simulations obtained in the time and frequency domain will also be discussed in this work.
