Optical Fiber Communication Network Based on Power Distribution System
An optical fiber communication network based on the power distribution system configuration, low, medium and high voltage power lines and stations is presented. The electromagnetic and physical compatibility between the power lines, at the actual voltage and current levels, and the optical fibers allowed to build hybrid or associated networks for power distribution and data transmission. The technical characteristics of an optical fiber network embedded in the power lines, beginning at home, from the electric energy counter up to the interconnection power lines, are presented taking into account the transmission particularities of the power lines and the optical fibers. The technical, economic and legal aspects concerning the implementation and operation of such a data transmission network for the domestic power consumer are further discussed
