The scheme presents its advantages by simulation and experiment with the comparisons to blind phase search (BPS) algorithm. The simulation results show that LKF method has low OSNR penalty and low complexity. And the experiment results also exhibit that this scheme has advantages over BPS. When the laser linewidth is 1MHz, OSNR penalty of LKF is reduced by 0.47dB compared to BPS for polarization division multiplexing 16QAM (PDM-16QAM) signals.
