Analysis of the impact of Detector Accuracy on Semi-actuated Traffic Signal Control
This paper analyses the impact of the detection accuracy on the semi-actuated signal control, the traffic flow data of Qinyuan Road and Huian Road intersections in Wuhan were collected. The results were adopted VISSIM to simulate the strategy of semi-actuated signal control. The queue length, vehicle delay and number of stops are selected as evaluation indicators to analyse and compare the control efficiency when the intersections are semi-inductively controlled under the different accuracy of detector data. The experimental simulation results indicate that with the improvement of the accuracy of vehicle detector, there are more obvious the improvement of each traffic evaluation index at the intersection and the efficiency of actuated signal control is higher. According to the data comparison during the peak hour of the intersection, the accuracy rate relative to the detector is 60%, the queue length, average vehicle delay and the number of stops are increased by 20.9%,14.8%, and 10.8% when the accuracy of the detector reaches 100%.
