Link quality is a metric for routing protocols. Link quality measurement is classified as software or hardware parameters. Moreover, the paper considers the expected transmission count used by the RPL protocol as a software and routing parameter. The evaluation was performed by a simulator commonly used for simulating the internet of things called COOJA. The numerical results show that the routing performance and link quality are divided into three grade zones as a performance metric based on the packet delivery ratio.
