Competencias socioemocionales de los adolescentes víctimas del conflicto armado en Ovejas (Sucre - Colombia)
The objective of this study was to describe the social-emotional competencies of adolescent victims of the armed conflict, carried out under a non-experimental design of transverse cohort of a descriptive type, with a comparative analysis of groups. The population consisted of 100 adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17 who were selected through Simple random sampling; the instrument used was the Emotional Inventory Baron Ice: Na complete for adolescents. This study is based on the baron competency model, which states that social-emotional competencies “are a network of interrelated emotional and social competencies, skills and facilitators that determine how effectively we understand and express ourselves, understand others and relate to them and cope with daily demands” (p.14).The results show that participating adolescents have appropriate skills to cope with the daily demands of the context in which they operate, with emphasis on adaptability competence, interpersonal and interpersonal capacity, stress management, and positive impressions. These results highlight the importance of implementing psychosocial intervention strategies based on social-emotional competencies.
