Intertextuality is the way that we relate textual occurrences to each other and recognizes them as signs which evoke whole areas of our previous textual experience. It is very important to recognize intertextuality for understanding and translating works, especially classics. This paper proposes a framework and four types of measurements to compute intertextuality, namely, Dice coefficient, Jaccard coefficient, overlap coefficient and cosine, and provides a priority list for assistance of the understanding and translation of tea classics. Experimental result shows that cosine performs best and intertextuality computing is helpful for the understanding and translation of classics.
