This transition requires novel technologies to achieve future capabilities. In this context, the establishment of prioritized, secure, and efficient command and data communication is essential for space and ground systems. The use of blockchain assures a secure automated network infrastructure. The blockchain has the potential for usage in swarm satellite architectures and constellations. This paper presents the use of blockchain in multi-sensor satellite architecture with its distributed ledger and smart contract capabilities to provide prioritized and secure collaborative satellite systems. The paper further discusses the use of blockchain technology in securing tracking and logging of control events and commands in satellite architecture.
