However, the dynamic reconfiguration of WSNs offers a significant hurdle due to the fact that conventional methodologies conFigure WSNs statically. Clustering methods can be implemented in WSNs to overcome this difficulty. A plethora of researchers have proposed routing methods based on the concepts of clustering. In this paper, a brief review of state-of-the-art routing methods is presented. The focus of this work has been on the selection of Cluster Head (CH) adopted by recently proposed studies that use different optimization methods.
