Now a days every restaurant is using pen and paper to place the order from the customer. This is wasting a lot of time in processing the order, the time is also required for sending the order that is placed to the kitchen. As this has to be changed and a new system has to be made, the proposed system aims in designing a fully automated ordering of menu system in the restaurants by using a touch screen, RFID, Zigbee and a LCD as the major components which will provide a friendly environment to the user. The menu that a restaurant has printed will be displayed through the touch screen placed on the customer’s table wherein the customer will be able to order any item from the menu that is seen on the touch screen panel present on the table. The order is transmitted through Zigbee which is a wireless technology that is developed for need of a low power, low cost sensor network which can perform the transfer of the information from one section to the other.
