The Soteria system is designed to be lightweight and highly efficient, using an authentication factor (AF) instead of traditional certificates to identify authenticated vehicles. This certificateless approach significantly reduces computational costs, increases speed, and decreases storage requirements, leading to improved performance and reliability for VANETs during handover.
