This paper proposes the LCX-MIMO antenna system, which can multiplex multiple antennas on a Leaky Coaxial Cable (LCX). To multiplex antennas, the delay and phase coded slots on a LCX is proposed. Different code is assigned to every LCX-MIMO antenna. In the paper, the configuration of an LCX-MIMO system, theoretical analysis and design methods are described. Analytical results and simulation calculation are performed on the relationship between code length and antenna size, as well as the multi access interference among LCX-MIMO antennas. Also the symbol error rate is estimated for various tip length and symbol durations. From the results of this analysis, it is shown that the proposed LCX-MIMO antenna system does not degrade system performance compared to conventional multiple feeder system. The proposed system makes it easy to set MIMO antennas over a wide area, and the MIMO multiplexing order can be improved.
