Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support High Fidelity Simulator: Review and Feasibility Analysis
In Uruguay, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support training of medical students is not carried out using high-fidelity simulators. We suggest developing high-fidelity simulators, with manikins and special purpose software with performance similar to the most complete simulators on the market, or even higher. The simulation environment has the ability to adapt to national academic requirements, to improvements, all at moderate development and maintenance costs. As a feasibility study, we describe the simulator components along with a block diagram, indicating functions designed to simulate with high fidelity the main clinical conditions of Cardio-Respiratory Arrest. The suggested design includes reception of sensor signals, control of effectors, data processing, video and audio outputs, wireless transmission, control software and analysis of simulations.
