Implementation and verification of a cloud-based machine-to-machine data management system
Cloud-computing has recently become a popular alternative to traditional physical server application development and deployment. This is largely due to the inherent scalability and flexibility that cloud infrastructure provides. A cloud-design paradigm demands good programming practice that results in maintainable and performant code. A machine-to-machine (M2M) data management system was implemented on a cloud and verified for functional capability and performance. Empirical results show that excellent performance can be expected when the server is hosted on a commercial cloud infrastructure, providing sufficient evidence that a cloud implementation is a viable framework for actual M2M applications.
