Research of Effects of Intelligent Rope Skipping on BMI or Health-related Physical Fitness among Overweight Middle School Students and the Correlation
In recent years, with the continuous integration of cloud computing, big data, internet of things, virtual reality and other emerging technologies in all walks of life, information technology had been integrated into the field of sports. Intelligent rope skipping had emerged based on the visualization, personalization and precision. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12 weeks of intelligent rope skipping on BMI and health-related physical fitness, and to analyze the correlation of BMI and health-related physical fitness for overweight middle school students. 60 overweight middle school students (30 in male, and 30 in female) were randomly recruited to take part in the experiment. Each group was arranged to intelligent rope skipping for 12 weeks, 5 times a week, and 15 min per day. During the training, subjects did not receive any other specific physical exercise. Body composition, vital capacity, 50speed sprint, pull-up(in male), bent-leg sit-up(in female), 800m(in female)/1000-m run(in male), sit and reach and standing long jump were determined before and after the training. The cubic, S and logistics regression were used to determine the correlation of BMI and healthy-related physical fitness. As the results, BMI (in female), vital capacity weight index, 50-m sprint, pull-up(in male), bent-leg sit-up(in female), 800-m(in female) /1000-m run(in male), standing long jump were significant difference after 12-week training. Before and After training, the R-squared value of the cubic regression model in overweight middle school students was superior to those of the S regression model, and logistic regression model respectively. In conclusion, this study suggests that 12 weeks of intelligent rope skipping could improve BMI, cardiopulmonary function, explosive force, and muscular strength of overweight middle school students, and it could promote the correlation between BMI and health-related physical fitness indicators, among which the influence degree of overweight boys was more than overweight girls.
