Once the dynamic balance is disturbed, the gut microbiome may lead to a variety of diseases. Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) affects 1-2% of women of reproductive age, and its prevalence has increased in recent years. According to the literature review, the gut microbiome is a new potential driver of the pathophysiology of recurrent abortion, and the gut microbiome has emerged as a new candidate for clinical prevention and treatment of RPL. However, few studies have concentrated on the direct correlation between RPL and the gut microbiome, and the mechanisms by which the gut microbiome influences recurrent miscarriage need further investigation.
