Abstract

This is the second part of a four-part article on the application of Davanloo's Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy to patients suffering from hyperventilation and panic disorder. Part I focused on the application of Davanloo's technique of handling resistance leading to the first breakthrough into the unconscious. Part II will focus on the course of the interview after the partial breakthrough, leading to the partial unlocking of the unconscious and the phase of systematic analysis and consolidation. The whole process will be highlighted by systematic analysis of the trial therapy interview of the same patient as presented in Part I, who suffers from panic disorder, hyperventilation and a wide range of character disturbances. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
