Abstract
This paper presents the results of research to obtain low cost concrete, using industrial by products and waste. The objective is to use these materials in low cost construction with adequate durability and compressive strength.
Different cement replacements have been studied by substituting 20%, 40% and 60% cement with two kinds of fly-ashes, in their natural state and after being subjected to a grinding process until a greater ash fineness than that of cement was obtained.
Data on the physical and chemical properties of the ashes, workability and compressive strength data of control and fly ash concrete are presented.
