Les implants maxillofaciaux à plateaux d’assise

Abstract

Although set sat back implants allow the most complex maxillomandibular and maxillofacial rehabilitations, it is also possible to use them within partial dental rehabilitations. However, such applications particularly highlight the difficulty in applying an orthopedic concept of cicatrization without shearing within a natural imperfect occlusion. The objective of this article is to analyze these partial edentation with the technological criteria of the set sat back implantology. It then becomes possible to develop a clinical reasoning to do adapted therapeutic choices, which is illustrated by two exemplary clinical cases. Lastly, the comprehension of many additional parameters constitutes a recurring element of discussion for this kind of partial rehabilitations.
