Teleprocessing monitor/logger

Abstract

The hardware and software structures of an 8080-based teleprocessing monitor/logger are described. The system includes a VDU and two cassette drives and displays the two-way data communication between a modem and a terminal. It demonstrates that microprocessors can be used to realize machines which exploit real-time computing techniques and emphasizes the microprocessor's capability of effecting traditional hardware functions by programming.
