Influence of safety problems on the development of economic nuclear power

Abstract

The subjects presented in this paper are: The economic status of nuclear-fueled plants; the cost associated with reactor safety; the effects of plant siting on cost; and the economic risk in constructing nuclear plants. The purpose of this presenteation is to provide some indication of the economic significance of the judgments that must be made on the interrelation of reactor safety, plant siting and the economics of nuclear plants.
