Abstract

Osmotin and osmotin-like proteins (OLPs) are pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins, whose synthesis is normally stimulated upon infection of plants by pathogens. A strawberry genomic clone containing an osmotin-like protein (OLP) gene was isolated and sequenced. This clone contains an open reading frame of 681 nucleotides without any intron.
