Abstract

O presente artigo possui como objetivo precípuo analisar aspectos culturais e históricos das esculturas de personalidades históricas, as quais homenageiam grandes nomes da literatura brasileira e maranhense, como Gonçalves Dias, Coelho Neto, Vespasiano Ramos e Dias Carneiro, presentes na praça Dias Carneiro, conhecida popularmente como “Praça do Pantheon”, considerada o “coração” da cidade de Caxias/MA.

期刊介绍： The Journal of the Center for the History of Society and Culture is an annual scientific journal written in Portuguese. Its articles are subjected to a preliminary assessment carried out by an external arbitration committee. This journal was founded in 2001 with the main goal of publicizing the historical studies developed within the scope of the Center for the History of Society and Culture, an R&D unit registered with the Foundation for Science and Technology. The journal’s contents include unpublished historical texts (from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Age), a news section on scientific activities and critical reviews of books in the field of History. The journal accepts articles from full researchers and collaborators of the Center for the History of Society and Culture, as well as from any other historians from outside this institution. Special encouragement is made to the participation of all those who, in one way or another, cooperate or develop networking activities with this Research Center.
