Higher peaks of green algae were reported during summer and were represented by Chlorella vulgaris, Ankistrodesmusfalcatus, Scenedesmus sp. and Coelastrummicroporum. The species of Ankistrodesmusfalcatus, Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus sp., Pandorinamorum, Actinastrumhantzchii, Pyrobotrysincurva and Micractiniumpusillum confirm eutrophic condition of the lake and act as indicators of organic pollution and represent pollution tolerant species. Abstract

The present paper deals with the study of Chlorophyceae in Saroornagar Lake. Samples were collected from four sampling stations for a period of two years and comprehensive physico-chemical analysis was carried out.
